County commissioners approve salary matrix, council one step closer

A joint session with the Pulaski County Commissioners and county council was held in hopes of discussing a county employee wage matrix and if the county has enough money to support it.
The two groups met Monday evening in hopes of hearing more about the Local Option Income Tax the county has recently implemented.
County auditor Shelia Garling said she received the State reports on Monday regarding the tax but she hasn’t had a chance to review that information. She is still in need of further information from the State. She plans to have more information by the next county council meeting.
Commissioners approved to support the revised wage matrix for the salary ordinance this year.
Council president Jay Sullivan said he would like for the council to make a decision regarding the wage matrix during the next council meeting on Monday, Jan. 11.
