Chamber prepares for Torchfest, Spirit of Pulaski County

Although the Spirit of Pulaski County will not be held during its usual time of the year, the festivities will go on.
During a regular chamber meeting, Pulaski County Chamber of Commerce Director Angie Anspach updated the chamber board members as to when the festival will be occurring.
“We are teaming up with the Bicentennial committee and we are moving the Spiritfest to Oct. 7th, 8th and 9th,” Anspach said.
The festival will be held in downtown Winamac to ensure that the Torchfest is at the county seat. The Bicentennial Torch Relay will travel through Winamac on Oct. 7 and a special ceremony will be held at the Vurpillat Opera House.
In the past the Spiritfest has been held for one day but with the Torchfest, it will be extended. Anspach said on Saturday and Sunday there will be vendors and a river race along with various entertainment.
She noted that a business expo will also be held in honor of Manufacturing Day that is Oct. 7.
After this year, the Spirit of Pulaski County will continue as it has before in August.
