Eastern Pulaski hires new staff members

Eastern Pulaski Community School Corporation board members met Monday evening to discuss hiring a new teacher and a high school secretary.
Board members held a special meeting to hire a new family and consumer science teacher, a new high school secretary and a new varsity volleyball coach. The meeting was short and to the point as the school board members agreed on the various recommendations with very little discussion.
Superintendent Dan Foster first recommended that Cara Dulin be hired as the family and consumer science teacher. Dulin is filling the teaching position as the retirement of Pam Burger was approved at the beginning of the year. Burger has worked for the school corporation for 38 years and taught for 41 years. Her retirement will be effective at the end of the school year.
School board members approved to hire Christin Shell as the high school secretary. The position became open after Angel Hanson resigned from the position at the beginning of the month. Hanson was the secretary for the school corporation for the last 14 years.
Along with Hanson resigning, varsity volleyball coach Cathy DeFries recently resigned. DeFries was a volleyball coach for 16 years. The board approved to hire Heather Kasten as the varsity volleyball coach. Tammy Biros was hired as the varsity volleyball assistant. Foster said Biros helped with the volleyball program last year.
School board members also hired Cullen Ulerick as the varsity football assistant.
